To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to introduce myself in regards to my future teaching position. I am from Broadview, Saskatchewan where I attended both elementary school and high school. I am currently enrolled in my fourth year of my Bachelor of Education (Secondary) at the University of Regina, where I am majoring in Mathematics and minoring in English.
I have gained experiences working with young people through tutoring, babysitting, and volunteering in classrooms during high school. I was actively involved in my high school’s volleyball, drama teams, and School Representative Council. In regards to mathematics, I tutor high school students from grades 5-10 during May and June during my time away from University.
I am interested in helping with junior or senior volleyball programs, junior or senior badminton teams, as well as helping with the drama programs. I currently play on a ladies volleyball team and I feel as though my knowledge and skills would be an addition to the team. I have actively competed in drama since I was in grade 6 and I feel as though I could help prepare the team for competition and performances. I believe there is more to school than what is just learned in the classrooms, so I would partake in as many extra-curricular groups as I could.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for considering me for a teaching position, I look forward to working and learning at your school. Some important contributions I will bring to my placement are a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and desire to work with you and the students, both in the classroom and during extra-curricular events. I am passionate about embarking on my teaching career and look forward to working with you and the rest of the staff at your school.
